KOBRA VS USB‑C: certified data security from Germany

The Digittrade KOBRA VS is a USB‑C stick developed and assembled in Germany, with capacities from 16 GB up to 512 GB. It is certified by BSI, NATO and the EU up to VS‑NfD, NATO RESTRICTED and EU RESTRICTED, for organisations where data breaches, compliance issues and supply‑chain risks are simply unacceptable.

Preventing insecure USB sticks and data breaches

Sensitive documents, configurations and forensic images still travel too often on standard USB sticks without demonstrable security. Loss or theft quickly leads to data breaches, fines, reputational damage and difficult questions from auditors and regulators. In addition, for many so‑called “secure” sticks the origin is unclear, which actually increases supply‑chain risks and compliance issues.

Reducing risks for compliance, audits and national security

Insufficiently protected portable storage means unauthorised access to confidential data, an unclear chain of custody and increased pressure during audits. Incident response, reporting and forensic investigation cost time, money and focus, impacting both security teams and management.

European, certified USB stick for maximum data protection

The KOBRA VS addresses these pain points with full production and assembly in Germany, BSI, EU and NATO RESTRICTED certification, and a pSLC module instead of MLC. This delivers higher reliability, longer lifespan and stable performance. It is also suitable as a bootable stick for hardened OS images, forensic toolsets or secured workstations.

Two‑factor smartcard authentication for controlled access

Access is only possible via smartcard plus PIN code. Kobra smartcards and PKI identity cards from enterprises, public authorities and military organisations (such as troop cards) are supported. In case of loss or theft, all data remains fully encrypted and unreadable, preventing data breaches.

Managed, integrable security with KOBRA Client VS Agent and KOBRA CONNECT

The KOBRA Client VS Agent controls who may use which stick, with which smartcards and under which conditions. KOBRA CONNECT with Defence Zone then provides central control: it defines on which computers, user groups and networks the KOBRA VS is even recognised and allowed as a device. This way, you combine hardware‑based encryption with central policies, detailed logging and granular access control, turning every data exchange into a controllable, accountable and trusted chain from workstation to datacenter.
